About Us

It took a few weeks until the stars aligned with both of our busy traveling schedules and we were able to meet for the first time sometime in the summer of 2011. It was a nice summer afternoon and we went for some frozen yogurt and to buy bikes. We still enjoy riding our beach cruisers around Long Beach and on the bike path.

Through the next year, we met each other in different parties or just walking down Broadway on a night out in Long Beach.

In August 2012 we met again and decided to go dancing at the old Hamburger Mary's. Assaf pulled out his best moves on the dance floor and Ryan was finally swooned, promising to take Assaf on a "Real Date". On a warm summer night, Ryan took Assaf to The Reef restaurant, watching over the Long Beach skyline. Ryan picked up Assaf with a rose. This relationship was probably sealed at that point.

Since then we were inseparable, at least on weekends when we both made it back to Long Beach from the four corners of the world. We like to send each other postcards from the different places we visit.

Assaf got to visit Wisconsin, both in the summer and in the winter.

Ryan got to visit Israel – from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and the Dead Sea.


We found out we both like the same things and according to some, also look the same…

With our amazing friends we like to go out, travel or just stay at home (or perhaps chill on the roof).


It was Ryan who couldn't keep the big question in and one fun night on the Queen Mary the word came up. Assaf couldn't say No, but made Ryan promise that there should be a "Real proposal".

After the US Supreme Court reversed Prop 8 and made DOMA unconstitutional, the road was clear. While Assaf was planning a small special dinner at our favorite "special occasion's restaurant", Terranea, Ryan was quietly working hard to pull out the most amazing local production of the Amazing Race. On Saturday afternoon a driver waited downstairs with a special mix CD of our favorite songs and the first riddle was given via FaceTime all the way from Reno. From there, Assaf had to guess his way around Long Beach – Kabob Curry, where we had our first meeting with friends, Jones bicycle on 2nd st., Hamburger Mary's and of course – the Queen Mary. Our friends were waiting in each location with a clue to the next location. Ryan was waiting with flowers and a ring at the park and finally could properly propose to Assaf. We strolled back to The Reef restaurant for dinner, the same place where we had our first date.


The next day, Assaf got his turn to ask the question on the bluff at Terranea with the sunset at the background. And now we are happy that you will join us in our hometown, at our happiest time to celebrate our wedding.
